Is it..."At least I can pray" or is it..."The most I can do is pray"?
From the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief:
A Call to Fervent Prayer
"At least I can pray." This is what we hear so often, but instead we should say, "The most I can do is pray." Of all the needs that have been discovered in Haiti, none looms larger than that of spiritual awakening. If Christians will plead before the Father, He will answer and the face of Haiti will be forever lifted, not by the hands of doctors or the gifts of food, but by the love of Almighty God. Some of you reading this will end up in Haiti, but many will not. Everyone reading this can pray. Some may choose to join with the Haitian people in a three-day fast starting Friday. We have heard the cry. We see the sick and injured. We know the promise in the scripture (James 5:13-16), "the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." Let us all join in prayer.
Some more detail. The Southern Baptist have called for a day of prayer on Sunday, February 14th. Can you imagine the impact of so many people lifting up Haiti in prayer on a single day!?! God is faithful and He hears our prayers. In addition to this we have heard that the Haitians have cancelled Carnival and are having a "Holiday" this weekend instead, from Friday through Sunday they are fasting and praying. Satan's holiday is being replaced with one for God on a national level...can you imagine!!! This weekend of fasting is the very same weekend when Carnival is to begin. It is time to pray...Satan will not be happy with this decision and will try to influence and use people to destroy God's work. Will you join us in fervent prayer for Haiti this weekend? Let's unite our strength and give Haiti a fighting chance. Prayer changes things and it changes lives...the most beneficial thing we can do is fall on our face and seek God, it is by no means the least thing we can do!
