We're Home

Well, we made it home after a long day of traveling!

We started this morning in Miami at what is equivalent to 1:30 am here. We then traveled to Wenatchee and arrived home at about 5:15 pm. What a day and the kids were troopers. We are all very tired since we are used to going to bed by 6:30 pm.

In addition to all of this, I think we are struggling with what a good friend told us about. She described a condition called "reverse culture shock". It is the transition that we must be feeling coming back and trying to adjust to life in America again. It seems so weird to be back.

As a family we are finding it hard to run our tooth brushes under the faucet and drink tap water. We are also not flushing the toilet each time nor leaving the lights on in any room. We find ourselves wondering if we should check the level of water in the cistern and looking to see if the electric company has turned the electricity on. What a transition.

Maybe it will become easier in the coming days.
