Today is a half work day at the orphanage so we are hanging around the guesthouse this morning doing some laundry and cleaning.

We need to somehow adjust what we are doing. We are feeling like we have very little family time and the kids are starting to show the stress of spending the day at the main house. Mathieu is waking frequently at night crying unconsolably. He feels bad inside and only frees himself at night to express it. Most mornings he doesn't even remember it so we think he is still asleep during the episodes. Cece is not sleeping well. She tosses and turns a lot of the night. Our bedroom is so HOT!! Samuel seems to be sleeping well but is covered in misquito bites. We have been here 6 days and he has over 32 bites on one leg alone. We have not counted the rest. They LOVE him!!
The picture does not do them justice. We need to figure something out for him. The deepwoods off doesn't even seem to help. Margie and Cece have several bites and Mathieu a few and Todd only one or two.
We would love some prayer in regards to the living situation, figuring out how to spend more time as a family and down time with the kids yet still fulfilling expectations. We don't think this pace could hold for a month. There has to be a way to balance being a blessing to GLA and not damaging the family at the same time. Everyones emotions are getting a little fryed.
Tomorrow we believe will be a day of rest. :>) Which will be good for all of us.
Todd and Margie - We are continually praying for you guys. I have the men from my mens group also praying for you. We know that you are doing great things....God is paying close attention. We love and miss you guys. It looks like Sam is embracing this with his own blog. Tim

ReplyDeleteWe have had very bad mosquito problems here in NW Montana this year. Benjamin has the worst time, and since he is little, he doesn't understand about not scratching and brushing them off his skin. He looks much like Sam. We have found Natrapel to work very well. I don't know if you can get anything like that around there. Also the Thermacell devices work wonders. To get the itch to go away simple hand sanitizer is amazing, and I bet you have some of that! :) Praying for you all . . . Erika and Kelly
